AD-V24-USB/IDE - Dimensions: 50 x 30 x 24 mm - to be mounted on a PCB - Interfaces: 2x USB-A and 1x IDE (44-pin / 2mm) - Power consumption: At 5V ~ 40 mA (without memory device) Evaluation Kit - platform in metal case - Dimensions: 220 x 78 x 40 mm - Room for a 2,5" HDD or a Compactflash card with adapter
The standard functions like read, write, copy, create, delete, rename files with DOS-similar commands are supported by the embedded USB Host. Directories can be created and deleted. Navigation inside of a directory or a plug memory is possible. The file systems FAT12, FAT16 and FAT32 are supported.
The copy of a file is independent of the controlling 8-bit or 16-bit system and is much more faster than the 115200 Baud access enables.
Datasheet
With the copy command can the target file be optionally created new, or the source file can be attached on an existing file, e.g. to complement a protocol file with new collected data. The writing of a file can also be regulated to re-write the data at the beginning of the file.
In order to simplify the handle of big files with the limited memory, they can be readed in any desired block sizes and from any desired start address.
The exchange of configuration data, protocol data, or any data is very simple: just plus an USB-Stick to the embedded USB Host, and let the data be transferred.
The applications are diverse and enable existing designs and software solutions to be extended with a mass storage (serial Data recorder) with very less efforts. No need to have big knowledge of data systems or USB mass storage technology. The created data can be handled then in any PC with USB interface, as they are stored with FAT12 / FAT16 or FAT32 data system (according to the formatting of the memory).
